Himma Trading Arena · Official rules · Season I

The rules of the game.

The Himma Trading Arena is a paper-trading tournament: a game of skill played with virtual money on real market data. These rules keep it fair, legal and fun. By registering, you agree to them.

The one-line version: the money is virtual and can never become real money; the rankings decide real prizes; play fairly with one account; and nothing in the arena is investment advice.

1. What the arena is

  1. Every participant receives a virtual balance of $100,000 at registration. It has no cash value, cannot be deposited to, withdrawn from, or converted into real money or any other benefit.
  2. Prices shown in the arena are based on real market data (or a clearly labelled simulation), replayed or delivered through the arena's own market clock. Fills, spreads and settlement are simulated and may differ from real-market execution.
  3. The arena is a game of skill. It is not a brokerage, an investment platform, or a solicitation to trade real financial instruments.

2. Eligibility

  1. You must be 18 years or older to register.
  2. One account per person. Duplicate accounts, shared accounts or automated (bot) play by participants are not allowed and lead to disqualification. The clearly-labelled "house bots" on the leaderboard are part of the game and cannot win prizes.
  3. Himma employees and tournament administrators may play but are not eligible for prizes.
  4. Prize eligibility may be subject to local law in your country of residence. Where a prize cannot lawfully be delivered, Himma may substitute it or award it to the next eligible participant.

3. The season and the clock

  1. A season runs for a fixed number of trading sessions (Season I: 42) on the arena's market clock. The current day and session time are always shown in the game.
  2. Players may register after a season has started; everyone starts with the same virtual $100,000 whenever they join.
  3. Himma may pause, adjust the speed of, or restart the market clock for technical or fairness reasons. Material changes are announced on the arena's news wire.

4. Winning and prizes

  1. Final ranking is by account equity (virtual cash plus the market value of all positions) at the closing bell of the final session.
  2. The top three human participants win the prizes displayed on the leaderboard during the season. House bots are excluded from prize ranks.
  3. Ties are broken by (a) earlier registration time, then (b) fewer total orders placed.
  4. Winners are contacted at their registration email within 7 days of season end and may be asked to verify identity and eligibility before prizes are delivered. Unclaimed prizes lapse after 30 days.
  5. No purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter or win.

5. Fair play

  1. Exploiting bugs, data errors or unintended mechanics for ranking advantage is prohibited. Report anything strange to [email protected]; confirmed reports of material bugs may be rewarded at Himma's discretion.
  2. Himma may adjust or void trades, balances or rankings affected by errors in market data or the simulation, and may disqualify accounts that violate these rules. Decisions on rankings and prizes are final.
  3. Because Season I replays historical market data, using knowledge of past markets is possible; the design accounts for this, and later seasons run on live data. Automated scraping or API abuse is still prohibited.

6. Your data

  1. Registration requires a display name, email address and password. Your display name and results appear on public leaderboards; your email is never shown publicly and is used only for tournament administration and prize delivery.
  2. Your trading activity in the arena is analysed to generate your personal end-of-season review and aggregate, anonymised statistics about the tournament.
  3. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time via [email protected].

7. No investment advice

  1. Nothing in the arena, including prices, news, statistics, the AI season review and any coaching content, is investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security or asset.
  2. Simulated performance does not predict real-market results. Real trading involves real risk of loss.

8. The boring but important part

  1. The arena is provided "as is". Himma is not liable for interruptions, data errors or lost virtual profits, and may modify or discontinue the arena at any time.
  2. Himma may update these rules between seasons; the version linked in the game applies to the current season.
