Firefly Aerospace (FLY) Stock Jumps on $1.3B Engine Deal

By Himma Editorial 1 min read

Firefly Aerospace stock rose 18.4% on November 6, 2026 after a three-year rocket engine deal with AST SpaceMobile valued at more than $1.3 billion.

Firefly Aerospace stock (NASDAQ: FLY) was up 18.4% in early regular trading on November 6, 2026. The company signed a rocket engine agreement with AST SpaceMobile valued at more than $1.3 billion.

What happened

The agreement runs for three years. Firefly will deliver rocket engines, license intellectual property (IP, meaning its engine designs and know-how) and provide engineering support for AST SpaceMobile's new heavy-lift rocket.

Firefly said the deal gives it additional funds to speed up production of its own launch vehicles.

Why the stock rose 18.4%

The gain was about four and a half times the size of a typical day's swing for the stock. The deal value is the clearest driver. More than $1.3 billion is large next to Firefly's own market value. The money also comes from engines and IP Firefly already develops for its own rockets, so it does not depend on launching a new business line.

What to watch next

  • Progress on engine deliveries under the agreement.

  • Development milestones for AST SpaceMobile's heavy-lift rocket.

  • How Firefly uses the extra funds to accelerate its own launch vehicle production.
