Ecovyst (ECVT) Stock Jumps on Q3 Results, Raised Outlook

By Himma Editorial 2 min read

Ecovyst stock rose 8.2% on November 5, 2026 after Q3 sales jumped 51% to $308.6 million and the company raised its full-year 2026 EBITDA outlook.

Ecovyst stock (NYSE: ECVT) was up 8.2% in trading on November 5, 2026, after the sulfuric acid producer reported third quarter results and raised its 2026 outlook. Sales grew 51% to $308.6 million from $204.9 million a year earlier.

What Ecovyst reported

Metric Q3 2026 Q3 2025 Change
Sales $308.6M $204.9M +51%
Net income (continuing operations) $18.4M $0.2M +$18.2M
Diluted EPS (continuing operations) $0.17 $0.00 +$0.17
Adjusted net income $25.3M $21.5M +18%
Adjusted EBITDA $61.2M $57.5M +6%

EPS is earnings per share. Adjusted EBITDA is earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, with some one-off items removed. Sales were lifted by about $67 million of higher sulfur costs passed on to customers and by Calabrian, a sulfur dioxide business bought on June 30, 2026. The net income jump also reflects a much lower tax rate: 19.9% versus 99.1% a year earlier.

Ecovyst raised its full-year guidance (its own forecast) for Adjusted EBITDA to $208 million to $212 million, from $195 million to $207 million, and for sales to $1,050 million to $1,070 million, from $1,020 million to $1,060 million. Part of the increase comes from moving a planned maintenance shutdown, called a turnaround, from the fourth quarter into early 2027.

Why the stock rose 8.2%

The move was more than four times the size of a typical day's swing for the stock. Adjusted EBITDA came in above the high end of the company's own guidance range, and Ecovyst raised its full-year forecast again. CEO Kurt J. Bitting said "strong refining margins and increased export demand drove year-over-year growth in regenerated sulfuric acid volumes and sales."

What to watch next

  • Fourth quarter results against the new EBITDA range, which includes $5 million to $6 million from Calabrian

  • Buybacks: the company intends to repurchase up to $20 million of stock in the second half of 2026, after $2.7 million in Q3

  • Sulfur prices, as the company warned a significant drop could lead customers to cut inventories
