Magnite (MGNI) Stock Jumps 18.6% on Q3 Earnings Beat

By Himma Editorial 2 min read

Magnite stock rose 18.6% on November 5, 2026 after Q3 contribution ex-TAC grew 20% to $200.6 million, beating guidance, and full-year targets were raised.

Magnite stock rose 18.6% in early trading on November 5, 2026, the morning after the ad-tech company reported third-quarter 2026 results. Contribution ex-TAC grew 20% year over year to $200.6 million. This is revenue minus the traffic acquisition costs Magnite pays publishers on certain sales, and it is the company's main top-line measure.

What Magnite reported

Metric Q3 2026 Q3 2025 Change
Revenue $204.2M $179.5M +14%
Contribution ex-TAC $200.6M $166.8M +20%
Adjusted EBITDA $83.4M $57.2M +46%
Net income $34.0M $20.1M +70%
Diluted EPS $0.23 $0.13 +77%

Adjusted EBITDA is profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization, also excluding stock-based pay and some one-off items. Connected TV (CTV, ads on streaming services watched on internet-connected TVs) drove the quarter. CTV contribution ex-TAC grew 39% to $105.4 million, above the company's own $98 to $100 million guidance, and now makes up 53% of the total. The rest of the business, which Magnite calls DV+, grew 5% to $95.3 million.

Magnite raised its full-year 2026 outlook. It now expects contribution ex-TAC growth of about 17%, up from 13% to 14%, and free cash flow growth above 60%, up from the high 40% range. It also expects full-year political ad spend to be nearly three times its initial forecast.

Why the stock rose 18.6%

The gain was about six and a half times a typical day's swing for the stock. The main driver was the size of the beat: total contribution ex-TAC cleared the top of Magnite's $188 to $192 million guidance range. The adjusted EBITDA margin widened to 42% from 34% a year earlier. CEO Michael G. Barrett said strong execution produced "outstanding operating leverage," which prompted the company "to once again raise our full-year outlook across all key performance metrics."

What to watch next

  • Q4 2026 total contribution ex-TAC guidance of $227 million to $233 million.

  • Q4 2026 CTV contribution ex-TAC guidance of $124 million to $127 million.

  • 2027 target: top-line growth over 15% excluding political ads, or 10% on a total reported basis.
